Biography
Amber Brumfiel joined Neal & McDevitt as Senior Counsel in 2023. Prior to taking time to have her children, Amber was a partner at an international trial and litigation law firm, where she litigated a wide range of commercial and business disputes, including patent and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, defamation, unfair competition, contract issues and torts. She has represented clients in all phases of litigation, including through arbitration and trial.
Amber is an active member of her community. She served her city as a park commissioner for four years. She served on the board of her children’s preschool while they attended and she has been very involved in school fundraising, including serving on the board of the Piedmont Education Foundation and chairing events. Amber is active in the autism community and serves on the board of a parent group that works with her school district to provide support and foster acceptance for students with special needs.
Amber lives in the Bay Area in California with her husband and their three boys (age 10 and 7 year old twins). Amber enjoys hiking, travel, and cooking.

Completed an eight-week internship at the Marin County District Attorney’s Office, where she successfully tried eight criminal cases.

Education
Amber attended the University of California, Los Angeles, where she graduated cum laude and received her B.A. (1998) in Political Science and European Studies. She received her J.D. (2001) from UC College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly called UC Hastings). In law school, Amber was the senior managing editor of the Hastings Law Journal. She also received an American Jurisprudence Award in Moot Court, the Within Award and CALI award in Trial Advocacy I and II, and a CALI award in her Criminal Punishment Seminar.
