Ashley joined Neal & McDevitt as an Associate soon after her admittance to the Illinois State Bar in 2018. Ashley’s practice has developed from law school and includes working with clients in the areas of use and protection of trademarks, the registration of copyrights and trademarks, music and entertainment licensing, data protection and privacy, and data protection compliance.
During law school, Ashley worked with several different areas of law, with a focus on trademarks and copyrights. She was a member of the Chicago-Kent Intellectual Property Law Society and an assistant editor for the Chicago-Kent Journal of Intellectual Property. Ashley also wrote several blog posts and web articles for previous workplaces regarding copyrights and fair use, trademark and copyright infringement, rights of publicity, state privacy laws, and safe harbor provisions under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
After law school, Ashley worked as a consultant for a data privacy company working with clients in preparation for the European Union General Data Protection Regulation. She worked to ensure clients understood the requirements under the GDPR regarding personal data protection and security, drafting records of processing of personal data, detailing legal bases for processing personal data, and drafting risk assessments and remediation plans.
Ashley is an avid lover of music, traveling, and wine. She is excited to be able to combine many of her personal interests with her legal practice at Neal & McDevitt.
